Gregory Hold is a financial industry CEO and public speaker focusing on the topics of trading regulation and compliance, anti-manipulative trading, broker-dealer management, market structure and technology. He draws from 20+ years of experience in the trading industry. Greg’s most recent engagement was as a featured speaker at the Trader’s Expo New York on compliance and regulation. In his presentation, “Catching Market Manipulation in the Day Trading World - Regulatory Concerns and Challenges Ahead,” he covered best practices for compliance surveillance programs and insights from his 23 years of experience in broker-dealer management.
Greg founded the Hold Brothers family of companies in 1994. Prior to founding the firm, as a successful professional day trader, Greg honed a talent for high-speed trading and an acute knowledge of the unique needs of traders in an ever-changing marketplace. Since founding the firm, Greg has overseen the development of Hold Brothers proprietary Graybox™ software platform, grown the business to become, at one point, the largest day trading firm of American markets in China and propelled the firm to #152 on the Inc. 500 in 2000. The firm provides access to U.S. markets, with headquarters in New York City. Greg holds a B.A. from Rutgers in physics and economics, is currently working on his M.S. in Technology Management from Columbia University, and has completed several graduate courses in Computer Science at Fordham University. Greg has also obtained FINRA Series 7, 24, 55, 63 and 28 licenses.
